Battery Development Engineer

At WS Technicals, Battery Development Engineers turn ideas and requirements into robust, manufacturable lithium battery systems.
This role focuses on mechanical design and development — transforming early concepts into tested, validated, and production-ready solutions.

Battery Development Engineers at WS Technicals combine technical precision with creativity. You’ll work closely with colleagues in electrical, thermal, and production engineering to create durable, efficient, and safe energy systems that perform in demanding environments.

What the Role Involves

The role typically includes, but is not limited to:

  • Designing and developing mechanical components and assemblies for lithium battery systems.
  • Creating detailed 3D CAD models and production drawings.
  • Performing material selection, tolerance analysis, and design-for-manufacturing reviews.
  • Integrating mechanical designs with electrical and thermal components.
  • Supporting prototype builds, testing, and design validation.
  • Documenting and maintaining design data throughout the development process.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement of materials, design methods, and production techniques.

Your Background

We welcome applicants from diverse educational and professional paths.
Your background may include some or all of the following:

  • Education in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline — or a technical school background combined with strong practical experience in mechanical design.
  • Experience in 3D CAD design (e.g. SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo, or similar).
  • Hands-on experience with plastic and metal components — such as TPE, PBT, or aluminium housings.
  • Familiarity with design-for-manufacturing principles and prototype development.
  • Understanding of thermal, sealing, or vibration design principles.
  • A structured, collaborative, and problem-solving approach to design work.

Why WS Technicals

At WS Technicals, you’ll be part of a small, dedicated team where mechanical design is directly linked to real-world results.

Our size and structure make it possible to work fast, make decisions quickly, and see your designs move from screen to production in a matter of weeks — not months.

You’ll collaborate closely across disciplines, have a real say in design decisions, and be part of a culture where every engineer’s input matters.

If you’re driven by hands-on product development and want to help shape next-generation energy systems, WS Technicals is the ideal environment to grow your expertise.

If this sounds like you, we welcome your open application at [email protected].
